Hello and welcome!

Hi there! I’m Barbara, a trauma-informed, person-centered therapist. If I had to describe myself in a few words, I’d say compassionate, adventurous, spontaneous, and a little bit of a one-of-a-kind person who doesn’t fit neatly into a box. I care deeply about people, community, and creating spaces where others feel seen, understood, and supported.

I’ve had my own experiences with therapy and have worked with different therapists throughout my journey. My therapeutic journey has looked different from anyone else’s, and that has taught me that there really isn’t one “right” way to heal. My own experience with therapy became a meaningful part of my life and helped me work through struggles with depression, anxiety, imposter syndrome, people-pleasing, and setting boundaries in my relationships. Along the way, I’ve built my own therapeutic toolbox and learned to approach the different parts of myself with more curiosity and compassion rather than judgment or avoidance. My own journey continues to influence the way I show up for my clients and the space I strive to create for them.

I don’t believe you need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. You can show up exactly as you are, and we can start from there. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, weighed down by past experiences, stuck in patterns that no longer feel helpful, or simply unsure of your next step, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and free to show up as your authentic self. My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed, and I believe therapy should be something we do together rather than something that is simply done to you. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you while exploring your experiences, emotions, relationships, and patterns. Together, we can build greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, resilience, and tools that support you both in and outside of therapy.

I support adolescents and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, mood challenges, and identity exploration. One of my areas of focus is mood disorders, including working with individuals living with bipolar disorder and co-occurring concerns such as anxiety and depression. I use a multimodal approach, allowing us to explore what you’re experiencing from different perspectives and find what feels most supportive for you.

Most importantly, I believe your therapeutic journey belongs to you. There is no perfect timeline, no “right” way to heal, and no need to fit yourself into a box. You get to make your own rules, move at your own pace, and decide what healing looks like for you. I’m here to be a guide, offer support, and walk alongside you as you better understand yourself and create meaningful change.

If your inner world feels overwhelming or difficult to navigate, having a space to slow down, feel supported, and explore what’s coming up can make a difference. If you’ve been considering therapy, I’d love to connect and see if we might be a good fit for your unique journey. If you’re interested in services with me please reach out and schedule a 15 minute phone call consultation :)
