Group Therapy
Group Therapy
Group therapy is a warm and compassionate space where individuals can come together to share their experiences in a safe and supportive environment. Guided by a trained therapist, participants have the opportunity to explore their thoughts and feelings related to trauma, anxiety, depression, and more, all while surrounded by others who understand their struggles. This shared journey fosters connection and validation, reminding everyone that they are not alone in their experiences.
Importantly, the roots of group therapy can be traced back to Indigenous practices, where community and collective healing have long been central to mental and emotional well-being. Many Indigenous cultures have utilized group gatherings, storytelling, and shared rituals as means of support and healing. This emphasis on community acknowledges the interconnectedness of individuals, highlighting the strength found in coming together to share experiences and wisdom.
By prioritizing safety and respect, modern group therapy allows members to heal at their own pace, offering the chance to learn from each other’s insights and build a strong sense of community. Ultimately, this nurturing approach not only promotes healing but also empowers individuals to reclaim their narratives and grow together, honoring both traditional practices and contemporary therapeutic methods.
Adult Children of Explosive Households
Who is this group for?
Adult Children of Explosive Households is a Therapy Group developed for adults who grew up in an explosive household, whether that be yelling, explosive emoting, or dangerous situations. The unpredictability of explosive households can teach us as children to bury our emotions, rebel, or be the perfect kid to avoid the explosion being pointed at you.
