Free Therapy for Survivors
The Moving Parts Psychotherapy team has been enraged and distraught by recent mass shooting events that have effected our greater community. Rather than sitting with our rage and sadness, we decided to launch in to action. We teamed up with Austin Teen Therapy and Free Therapy for Survivors was born.
Through community donations, we are covering longterm therapy services for survivors of mass shootings. We know that trauma therapy can be a long process and want to provide longterm, ongoing services for those in need following these traumatic events.
We are not a non-profit. We are relying on community donations that will go back toward community support.
Are you the survivor of a mass casualty event?
We want to match you with a therapist and allow you to begin healing.
Support survivors if you’re able.
We are moving quickly with this project and will continue to adjust needs as we go.
Update For Current and Future Donors
A local non-profit started by art therapist, Wanda Montemayor, assessed community needs in Uvalde, TX following the 2022 school shooting. After assessing community needs, Wanda began the Uvalde Love Project. Her team will provide group art therapy bi-weekly to community members interested in participating with the outcome of a large mural to go on display within the community. As the community is interested in healing together rather than individually, we were able to donate $5,000 to support the efforts of Wanda and her team in community healing. Thank you for your donations and we will keep you updated on how you are supporting survivors of mass shootings.
